What is local SEO?

Local SEO is the work of making a business show up in the map pack and local results when nearby buyers search for what it does. It covers your website, your Google Business Profile, and your listings on other sites.

Glossary: local SEO →

Does "near me" need to be on my website?

No. Google uses the searcher's location to answer "near me" searches. What you need are clear signals of what you do and where: your services, the areas you serve, and your name, address and phone as text that matches your Google Business Profile.

What does the free grader check?

One public page of your website, usually the homepage. It checks ten on-page signals: the title, meta description and indexing, the H1, name/address/phone, LocalBusiness structured data, the mobile viewport, the canonical URL, internal links, image alt text and page weight. Each comes back as pass, warn or fail with the evidence we read.

What the grader checks →

Does it check my Google Business Profile?

No. It grades your website only. It doesn't see your Google Business Profile, your rankings or your reviews, and it doesn't scrape Google.

What is NAP consistency?

NAP stands for name, address and phone. Consistency means writing them the same way everywhere they appear: your website, your Google Business Profile, Bing Places, Apple Business Connect and directories.

How many city pages should I have?

Only as many as you can give real, distinct local content: delivery times, local rules, jobs done there. Thin copies of the same page with the town name swapped can hurt, and Google's spam policies call them doorway pages.

Plan your pages →

Can you guarantee page 1?

No, and nobody can honestly guarantee rankings. Google decides rankings, and local results also depend on where each searcher is standing.

Do AI assistants use local SEO signals?

They cite pages with clear, structured business facts that they're allowed to crawl, so the same fixes help: facts as text, LocalBusiness markup, answer-first pages, and a robots.txt that lets their crawlers in.

Is the grader really free? Do I need an account?

Yes, it's free, and there's no account. You don't give an email address to see the result. Each result gets its own unlisted link, which anyone you share it with can open, for 30 days.

What happens when I request a human-reviewed audit?

Your request joins a waitlist. The done-for-you audit service isn't open yet. When it opens, we'll contact you using the email or phone you gave. Joining doesn't commit you to anything.

How the audit works →

Is SEO Near You the agency that used to be at this address?

No. This domain previously belonged to unrelated businesses, including an SEO agency. We have no connection to them, their clients or their work.
